Prevent FileZilla 3.15.0.2 Corrupting Files During Transfer 1.0 Stable: FileZilla supports transfering data in ASCII mode, or binary mode. It also has an auto feature to automatically decide which mode to use. When a file that is not ASCII (meaning plain text) is transfered in ASCII mode, it can get corrupted. Filezilla defaults to "Auto" for default transfer type. Filezilla also defaults to treating files with no extention as ASCII. You can change the mode the FileZilla uses by default. You can also change how it handles files with no extention. Configure FileZilla 3.15.0.2 To Use Binary Transfer Mode As Default: - Open FileZilla. - In Filezilla, go to "edit", then "settings". - In Settings popup go to "File Types", under the "Default transfer type" section choose "Binary", and at the bottom left click "OK". Configure FileZilla 3.15.0.2 To Use Binary Transfer Mode For Files With No Extention: - Open FileZilla. - In Filezilla, go to "edit", then "settings". - In Settings popup go to "File Types", under the "Automatic file type classification" uncheck "Treat files without extention as ASCII file", and at the bottom left click "OK". Notes: - Tested on FileZilla 3.15.0.2 running on Lubuntu 16.04 AMD64. - When images are corrupted they can appear abstract and pixelated.
